Skerries Woman Wins Fantastic World Cup Trip for Two Courtesy of Cuisine de France

June 2002

Irene Ruigrok of Skerries, Co. Dublin, was the lucky winner of a fantastic World Cup Trip for two to see Ireland play their first three qualifying matches in Japan. The prize, which includes four star accommodation and flights, was the top one for the lucky winner of the "Cuisine de France - Ireland's World Cup Breadwinner" in-store promotion.

Irene's winning slogan, "Cuisine de France's Parisien is La Premiere Baguette because tackling hunger and tasty to boot delicious Parisien has no substitute," impressed the judges with its link to football and the World Cup. The delighted winner is taking her mother, Margaret O'Carroll, with her to Japan to cheer on the Irish team.

Irene and Margaret got to meet Ireland Manager, Mick McCarthy, at the "Cuisine de France - Ireland's World Cup Breadwinner" prize draw for their trade customers, which took place in the Killashee House Hotel, Naas, Co. Kildare. The event was attended by over 200 of Cuisine de France's trade customers, and hosted by well-renowned broadcaster and sports commentator, Des Cahill.

As part of the consumer promotion, another 100 lucky consumers have also won a range of fantastic runner-up prizes including DVD TV's, DVD's, portable CD players from Philips, and leather Umbro footballs signed by Mick McCarthy.
